Carrie Lincourt is the founder of Community Art Studio and an artist-educator with over 25 years of experience in visual art instruction, curation, and arts administration. She is passionate about making art accessible for people of all ages and backgrounds. Since 2018, she has taught small group classes and as an itinerant teacher in Los Angeles public schools. Previously, she held roles at institutions including the School of Visual Arts, the Getty, and California State University Long Beach.

Carrie holds an MFA in Art and brings expertise in drawing, painting, mixed media, ceramics, and sculpture. She has a particular interests in choice-based and autonomous art education and incorporating natural and recycled materials into creative practice.

Her own artistic practice is interdisciplinary, spanning drawing, video, performance, and collaboration. Carrie believes in the power of art as a force for social change. In 2024, she launched Eco/Art Camp at L.A. Ecovillage, the intentional community where she lives with her partner and daughter. She also recently collaborated with the L.A. chapter of Extinction Rebellion to create art for public actions and demonstrations.

Community Art Studio is a collaborative project which includes a wide range of artists, crafts people and makers who offer workshops in a variety of mediums including printmaking, ceramics, pigment foraging, hat making and more.
